You Are Not Alone By Publius Valerius Welcome to the inaugural issue of Right Principles newsletter, “Principled Resistance” Right Principles shares the concern of those patriotic Americans who fear for our country as the current administration takes it into an increasingly authoritarian socialist direction. Each day brings some new attack on our Capitalist economy, on our National Security, on our brave men and women in the Armed Forces, on limited government, on states rights, gun ownership rights, property rights, the Right to Life and the traditional Judeo-Christian social values that serve as the foundation of our society. This newsletter is dedicated to achieving several goals: 1) To cull from the daily headlines the news items we think represent the most important, the most dangerous and most interesting to you as people who demand they be informed by the truth and not propagandized by the Liberal Media. 2) To expose the Liberal Media’s lies, which poison the airwaves and pollute the newspapers - some of which - like MSNBC and the NY Times - have descended into operating as open, obvious, obsequious toads shilling for the current administration. 3) To give our brave soldiers the respect, support and love they truly deserve for protecting us from foreign enemies… and internal enemies that never cease to make their jobs harder and put their lives in even more danger by advocating policies that succor our worst enemies. 4) To give historical, political and legal perspective to the events of the day in order that you may be better prepared to spread the truth to those who are taken in by a media that acts as the Public Relations Firm for the current administration. 5) To give hope to conservative students isolated on campuses around the country being force-fed a diet of anti-American propaganda ladled out by leftwing 1960s re-tread professors. 6) To keep you informed about what Right Principles is doing to counter these dangerous trends and, most important of all, WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP!! 7) Finally, to let you know that you are, in fact, NOT ALONE. We, the founding members of Right Principles have put together an action plan that allows every person concerned about our country’s safety and economic well being to become involved. Our project plan, which can be found below, specifically lays out a series of actions in which all of us can take part. Of course, financial donations are key to our success and we urge you to take note that our political opponents are using their well-oiled political machine to raise prodigious amounts of money. However, those who are not able to contribute money can contribute a valuable commodity that is just as important: their time. Right Principles offers an array of volunteer work to enable YOU to contribute. We can provide you with important organizational work you can do from your PC at home; you can be available to take part in demonstrations RP is planning with our coalition partners in the other patriotic organizations that have formed in opposition to the far left policies of the current Administration and Congress; you can volunteer to work for political candidates RP has vetted and has received a commitment from to uphold our principles in return for RP financial contributions and volunteer work on their campaigns. We at RP understand that organizing, demonstrating and volunteering to perform politically oriented work are not activities in which conservatively minded people usually take part. We understand that those who hold conservative opinions are those who actually WORK at jobs and take the time to focus on the well being of their families first. But it is our economic and family well-being that is now under threat. The political opposition has excelled in this type of basic political work. It has resulted in their political victory and has therefore rendered political apathy on our part dangerous to everything we hold dear. We hope this newsletter will not only arm you with the type of information you need to fight the lies of the Left and its allies in the Liberal Media, but will also motivate you to contribute what you can – either with time or money – to the cause of restoring our sacred Republic to the Right Principles on which it was founded.
WHO ARE THE REAL RADICALS AND EXTREMISTS: US OR THEM? By Cedo Nulli When co-founder Bob Mac Guffie published his now famous memo regarding the strategy to be taken at Town Hall meetings, Left-wing pundits and the state-run media intentionally misquoted him and falsely stated he was a volunteer for Dick Armey’s lobbyist group, Freedom Works. The Democrat National Committee ran an ad using the memo to argue the anger displayed at Town Hall meetings was manufactured. Of course, if they actually read the polls, they would know that this is not the case. Attempts were made to portray Bob and our organization, Right Principles as a right-wing extremist group. The hate mail we received from the loony Left was both disturbing and amusing. One person actually challenged us to a duel. But, let us be intellectually honest and examine our core beliefs and those of the Left and see who are the real extremists and radicals. On our website is a list of our core beliefs. Let’s examine some of them. We are unapologetically American and believe in American Exceptionalism or the belief that America is a unique country in history even though we recognize it has not been perfect, because very few things are. Whereas throughout history, totalitarianism and dictatorships were and are the norm, America was the exception because it believed in We, the People, limitations on the power of government, individual liberty and freedom. The entire purpose of the Bill of Rights was to limit the power of the government; to state what the government could not do to us. What does the Left believe in on this point? They believe America is not exceptional and that it is no different than other nations because it has committed many transgressions both to its own people, in part due to the immoral institution of slavery and in the world by what they see as Imperialistic ventures. This explains Obama’s World Apology tour. When Obama was campaigning for president, he initially refused to wear a flag lapel pin. There was a photo in which he stood with other Democrat presidential candidates during the Pledge of Allegiance without his hand over his heart. Which of these two views sounds radical? - Loving your country or apologizing for it and feeling ashamed of its traditions? We recognize that if men were angels, there would be no need for government, but men are not angels, so government, a limited one, is necessary. We believe in the power of the individual to decide how to spend their own money and make their own decisions on what they deem best for themselves and their family without government intrusion. What does the Left believe in? Since they are statists, they believe that the government knows what is best for us. They want to control every facet of your life, whether it is health care, what kind of light bulb you can use in your home, what you should eat, what kind of car you should drive and the list goes on and on. Which view sounds radical? - Our view or theirs? Which view is more in line with a totalitarian regime and tyranny? Which view is consistent with the principles upon which this great nation was founded on? We believe in free market capitalism, recognizing that no system is absolutely perfect because men are not perfect. Too often, human nature is governed by greed. This is not the fault of the capitalistic system per se, but of human nature. We oppose ‘crony capitalism’, whereby private companies are in bed with the government, instead of being independent entities. One bank, which received TARP funds, recently gave at least five million dollars to ACORN, the same group Obama was counsel to. The same group that has been widely involved in voter registration fraud and criminally investigated. The same group that is Obama’s private political community organizer and with a drop of the hat, attended Town Hall meetings to intimate dissenters. Obama and the Left hate drilling for oil off our own shores. If it were up to them, we would have to put a sail on our automobiles and have it powered by the wind. It was reported in the Wall Street Journal that Obama authorized a two billion dollar loan, the source of which is our tax dollars for off-shore drilling. The only problem is that it is off the shores of Brazil and the loan is being given to a state-owned Brazilian company called Petrobras. It gets worse. Soros Fund Management, a New York based hedge fund sold 22 million U.S. listed shares of Petrobras. George Soros, a big Obama supporter who pours millions of dollars into his Left-wing Moveon.org bought 5.8 million of the company’s U.S. traded preferred shares. Apparently, Soros is taking advantage of the spread between the two U.S. listed Petrobras shares. Some have asked whether it is just a coincidence that George Soros repositioned himself in Petrobras dividends to get hefty dividends just before this commitment was made by Obama. Sounds like crony capitalism, doesn’t it? We can’t drill in Alaska or drill off our shores, but Obama can lend two billion of our money for off-shore drilling in Brazil to make a bundle for his pal, George Soros. Did you ever notice many Leftists hate capitalism, tell us how evil it is, but don’t have a problem with it as long as they personally benefit? What does the Left believe in? - Socialism, collectivism, spreading the wealth and taxing you to the point that you have no incentive to work hard to enjoy the fruits of your own labor. When the Left permits capitalism, it is a perverted, mutated form of it, that is, crony capitalism as described above. IS SENATOR JOE MCCARTHY SPINNING IN HIS GRAVE? - AN ADMITTED COMMUNIST IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, BUT WHO CARES? by Publius Valerius Joe McCarthy, not the manager of the New York Yankees during the1930s, but the Republican Senator from Wisconsin, made a career of exposing communists in the federal government during the 1950s. The Left just loves hating ‘Tail gunner Joe’. Of course, the Left conveniently forgets that Joe McCarthy was the Godfather for Bobby Kennedy’s first child. How can this be? - One of the Left’s favorite liberal icons asking the most despicable man in American politics to be Godfather to one of his kids. In 1952, then Senator John Kennedy was attending a dinner at Harvard. An after dinner speaker made a remark that he was proud Harvard never graduated an Alger Hiss (a State Department official accused of being a Soviet spy who was later convicted of perjury in 1950 and sentenced to prison) and even prouder that it did not produce a Joe McCarthy. Kennedy was outraged by this remark and shouted, “How dare you couple the name of a great American patriot with that of a traitor.” After making this remark, Kennedy left. Are we sure JFK was a Democrat? The Left is responsible for the popular wisdom that McCarthy falsely accused loyal Americans of being communists during the ‘Red Scare’ of the 1950s. The term ‘McCarthyism’ refers to making accusations of disloyalty without proof. Although his tactics can be criticized, the fact of the matter is that McCarthy’s basic premise, that is, that there were communists in the federal government was proven correct when the Russian Venona papers were released. But as the Left argues, are you going to believe us about that despicable McCarthy or the Russians? An excellent book on McCarthy is “Blacklisted by History” by M. Stanton Evans. No doubt, ‘Tail gunner Joe’ is spinning in his grave because there is an admitted communist right now in the Federal government, but no one cares. The Left owes Joe an apology because even if they maintain there really were not communists in the federal government in the 1950s, there is one right now (and maybe more). We have all heard about the appointment of ‘czars’ by presidents. The term is derived from ‘Caesar’. The title of ‘czar’ was first used in America in a Time magazine article in 1973 referring to the appointment of William E. Simon to the Federal Energy Administration. ‘Drug Czar’ was first used in 1982 in an article quoting Joe Biden, who stated that the Senate had approved of a ‘drug czar’ to oversee drug policies. It appears Biden may have coined the phrase, ‘drug czar’. Contrary to popular belief, Vice-President Biden is not a ‘gaffe machine’ or a ‘buffoon’. * Just ask him. RINOs in the Tent – Part I The Betrayal of American Conservatism by Liberal Republicans By Publius Valerius The Theory and Practice of RINO Republicanism Exactly how long is the Conservative Base of the Republican Party going to tolerate suffering electorally fatal subversion by so-called “moderate” Republicans In Name Only, the RINOs? How long will they accept the fiction of a party that is a “Big Tent”, when that tent proves to be not only more and more empty of interested members but also more and more full of those who look very much like they would be much happier if they were attending a rival circus – a circus with a set of totally different “acts”, which would be guaranteed to alienate and negatively provoke its most loyal audience if held under their original Big Top? How long will it tolerate being politically debilitated by a disease caused by an internal enemy consisting of a disloyal collection of ideological subversives who are, for all intents and purposes, looking to either mutate its host body beyond all recognition or to kill it outright? The RINO betrayal is nothing new. It has been able to periodically weaken the Republican Party because RINO-ism has been a congenital condition that has existed within the body of the Party since its birth in the 19th Century. RINO-ism is like an inherited disease which passed to the Republican Party from its parent, the Whig Party. The ill-effects of this inherited disease sometimes lay dormant. But when they become active, they have proved to be historically devastating not only to Republican electoral hopes, but have proved to be spiritually devastating to the very soul of the Party and everything its supposed to stand for. This legacy of subservience to Plutocratic corporate interests has subverted the desire of the overwhelming majority of the Republican Party for small government since its inception over a century ago and the center of this plutocratic infection is found in the so-called “Eastern Establishment”. The Eastern Republican Establishment We must understand that there are really TWO Republican Parties. At the top is a very small minority group, national in scope but historically based in the Northeast, which is able to exercise great influence on the workings of the party by using both its considerable finances and long established influence and connections with power players in Business, Finance, Academia, powerful Foundations (such as the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations), the Foreign Policy establishment, which includes powerful organizations such as the Council On Foreign Relations and the most powerful members of the news media. This group has for years pushed the Republican Party away from being the Party of small government while trying to maintain the fiction that they were its champion. While it appears to be counter-intuitive that the Party of small government should support increased statist interference in our private and business lives, one must realize that this elitist group of Plutocrats cares NOTHING for the principles of small government and Capitalism because such principles LIMIT their ability to control. They detest competition and want to control market forces toward their own narrow interests, not allow them to create wealth for a wide section of society in general as they always prove to do if left to work with a minimum of interference. The Plutocracy would be MUCH happier with a powerful central government, putatively acting in the name of “fairness” and “egalitarianism” and “sharing the wealth” that carries out an agenda that favors them and their interests. They are not interested in any “principle” other than the principle of controlling POWER behind the mask of a “moderate”, supposedly altruistic policy that favors giving a break to the type of “little guy” they only see in their own lives when they notice the servants waiting on them. Unlike those modern Liberals who push “progressive” socialist policies from the Left, for whom such change cannot take place fast enough, the RINOs in the Eastern Establishment prefer a slower, more incremental approach, one less likely to produce a backlash which threatens to undo years of patient work operating semi-clandestinely and which tries to avoid the throwing of a wrench into their plans (as happened in 1980 with the election of Ronald Reagan). The Eastern Establishment has been around for a long time, working behind the scenes as well as behind a mask which portrays them as simple businessmen seeking the same freedom from Big Government to run their lives and businesses without interference of the type of excessive Governmental control that has been antithetical to the American way of life since its birth. To understand this one must understand the difference between the mindset of a Plutocrat and the mindset of a conservative. Let us be clear: we are NOT talking about the average American businessman or corporation. These people and organizations are the backbone of American Capitalism and the source of the massive amounts of wealth this country has historically produced. They support a small government, less bureaucracy and low taxes. They are the very image of the free enterprise system that values individualism, rewards hard work, merit, initiative and innovation. They are more than willing to take their part – and their chances - in the creative destruction process of Capitalism. They KNOW no one is “too big to fail”, that along with reward for success there is always the risk for failure and, most importantly, that reality dictates that there ARE NO perfect solutions or social utopias, only options that are less bad than others. The truth is that in its essence, the statist RINO agenda is exactly the same as that of those Democrats who have openly and actively supported an ever increasing role for Big Government, as fast and as much as possible, in the service of the advancement of the type of socialistic policies an ever larger central government is prone to. The RINO Establishment is not opposed to this view, but reacts negatively to the speed with which its proponents (now found in the Progressive Liberal wing of the Democrat Party) seek to put it into effect. The only thing that is “conservative” about this Plutocratic Elite is the rate at which the want to travel the road to the same collectivist goals as their supposed “rivals” in the opposition party. To understand how we arrived at this confused situation, one must examine the history regarding how RINO-ism came into being, evolved and ultimately came to largely control a Party in which it is a minority and with which it ideologically disagrees. Control Everyone Strives to Advance His or Her Life – Politicians Need to Fight This Urge (in Themselves) by Thomas Blom - Mark your calendars: 9/12 National Taxpayer Protest [http://912dc.org] Don’t get confused by the title of this letter. This is not a review of the secret organization called “Control” in the movie Get Smart starring Steve Carrell as Agent Maxwell Smart. One thought did come to mind that connected Mr. Carrell into the title. Steve Carrell played the newscaster Evan in Bruce Almighty. Jim Carrey, in competition with Evan, fills in for God while he is on vacation. One scene in the movie shows Bruce (Jim Carrey) with godly powers twisting Evan’s tongue during a newscast. That in turn reminded me of President Obama speaking the phrase: “All Wee-Weed up.” I almost wee-weed myself picturing Obama anchoring a news program. Every man and woman around the world goes through life with the objective of improving his/her position. We go to school to further our education, buy a new more advanced car, install air conditioning or an electric garage door opener, save money for retirement or buy a new purse all for the sake of enhancing our daily lives. Whatever it is that makes someone’s existence easier and/or more enjoyable is decided by everyone individually – at least that is supposed to be the way it works in these United States of America. Ted Kennedy, for example, enjoyed sailing and bought himself a nice boat. While I don’t understand that choice, it is not up to me to restrict it. This concept is no different for small business owners or CEOs. He/She may decide to offer another service or acquire a company in the interest of advancing a position. Politicians do not stand above self improvement either which is a problem. In most ways they are even worse because legislative actions taken by a few who represent us have a much larger effect on most of us. Public service can only be considered an honorable calling if the politician’s situation does not improve while “serving.” Otherwise it is hardly service to the public. More and more stories are illustrating just how low ethics and morality standards have sunk in Washington D.C. in particular and political offices in general. That is the problem; too many have infiltrated government organizations to enrich themselves instead of “serving” the public. We, the people, have been willing accomplices by measuring a candidate’s fitness based on media coverage or endorsements from organizations that are surely looking for a return on their investment.
