RINO Health Care Czars MA Law Cloward-Piven   THE Memo  THE Statement

IS SENATOR JOE MCCARTHY SPINNING IN HIS GRAVE? - AN ADMITTED COMMUNIST IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, BUT WHO CARES?

by Publius Valerius

Joe McCarthy, not the manager of the New York Yankees during the1930s, but the Republican Senator from Wisconsin, made a career of exposing communists in the federal government during the 1950s.  The Left just loves hating ‘Tail gunner Joe’.  Of course, the Left conveniently forgets that Joe McCarthy was the Godfather for Bobby Kennedy’s first child.

How can this be? - One of the Left’s favorite liberal icons asking the most despicable man in American politics to be Godfather to one of his kids.  In 1952, then Senator John Kennedy was attending a dinner at Harvard.  An after dinner speaker made a remark that he was proud Harvard never graduated an Alger Hiss (a State Department official accused of being a Soviet spy who was later convicted of perjury in 1950 and sentenced to prison) and even prouder that it did not produce a Joe McCarthy.

Kennedy was outraged by this remark and shouted, “How dare you couple the name of a great American patriot with that of a traitor.” After making this remark, Kennedy left. Are we sure JFK was a Democrat?

The Left is responsible for the popular wisdom that McCarthy falsely accused loyal Americans of being communists during the ‘Red Scare’ of the 1950s.  The term ‘McCarthyism’ refers to making accusations of disloyalty without proof.  Although his tactics can be criticized, the fact of the matter is that McCarthy’s basic premise, that is, that there were communists in the federal government was proven correct when the Russian Venona papers were released.

But as the Left argues, are you going to believe us about that despicable McCarthy or the Russians?  An excellent book on McCarthy is “Blacklisted by History” by M. Stanton Evans. No doubt, ‘Tail gunner Joe’ is spinning in his grave because there is an admitted communist right now in the Federal government, but no one cares.  The Left owes Joe an apology because even if they maintain there really were not communists in the federal government in the 1950s, there is one right now (and maybe more).

We have all heard about the appointment of ‘czars’ by presidents.

The term is derived from ‘Caesar’.  The title of ‘czar’ was first used in America in a Time magazine article in 1973 referring to the appointment of William E. Simon to the Federal Energy Administration.

‘Drug Czar’ was first used in 1982 in an article quoting Joe Biden, who stated that the Senate had approved of a ‘drug czar’ to oversee drug policies.  It appears Biden may have coined the phrase, ‘drug czar’.

Contrary to popular belief, Vice-President Biden is not a ‘gaffe machine’ or a ‘buffoon’.

  • Just ask him.

Reagan and the first Bush each had one czar.  Clinton had three and George W. Bush had four.  How many czars does President Obama have?

  • At last count, it was 34!

He has one for the automobile industry, one for global warming and a Great Lakes czar, to name but a few. Why there is czar for the Great Lakes is beyond comprehension.  Are the Great Lakes drying up due to global warming?

Pursuant to Article 2 (which pertains to the Executive branch), Section 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution, the President has the authority to appoint ambassadors, judges and all other officers of the United States, which have been established by law with the advice and consent of the Senate.  The first portion applies to principal officers.  Congress, may by law, if it so chooses, vest in the President alone the power to appoint inferior officers.

  • It is a three-step process for principal officers.

The President nominates someone for a post.  The Senate either confirms or denies the nominee, thus, the advice and consent function.  Lastly, the President then appoints the person after the Senate has approved of the nominee.

An excellent article on the advice and consent function of the Senate, is Advice and Consent: What the Constitution Says by John McGinnis in a Heritage Foundation article from July 2005.

‘Czars’ do not have to go through a vetting process and do not need Senate confirmation, as do judges and the cabinet secretaries.  Alarmed at the number of Obama czars and the fact they are not accountable to Congress, Representative Jack Kingston of Georgia introduced a bill to reign in this dangerous trend.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for it to ever become law. Something tells me, Speaker Pelosi is not supporting this bill.

A U.S. News and World Report article from March 2009, reported the appointment of Van Jones by President Obama to be the ‘Green Czar’. Green used to be my favorite color, until environmental extremists co-opted it. Van Jones was described as an ‘author, activist and think fellow’.  So far, so good… It was reported that he was the founder of ‘Green for All’, a group dedicated to bringing ‘green jobs’
to the disadvantaged and the author of ‘The Green Collar Economy.’

According to the article, Van Jones is a proponent of environmental justice, whatever that is.  There were several minor and insignificant facts not reported in the article.

Van Jones was in prison as a result of the 1992 Rodney King race riots in San Francisco.  He founded the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and STORM (Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement).

In an article posted on World Net Daily on April 12, 2009 by Aaron Klein titled, “Will A ‘Red’ Help Blacks Go Green”, he reported that, Jones was a founder and leader of the communist revolutionary organization, Standing Together to Form a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM.

That organization had its roots in a grouping of black people organizing to protest the first Gulf War. STORM was formally founded in 1994, becoming one of the most influential and active radical groups in the San Francisco Bay area.”

Radicals in San Francisco? Really? Doesn’t Speaker Pelosi come from San Francisco?

Call me crazy, but when someone establishes an organization called ‘Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement’ it could be that this person may have some radical views. But then again, as the Left often reminds us, our Founding Fathers were revolutionaries.

In an interview with the East Bay Express, Van Jones stated, “I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, then the verdicts came down on April 29th.  By August, I was a communist.”  He met young radical people in prison, including anarchists and communists.  He worked with the people he met in prison for ten years.

By his own admission, he was a revolutionary and a communist.

Van Jones has a website (VanJones.net) in case you are bored and have absolutely nothing else to do with your time.  He conveniently omits his communist past on his website because it probably was nothing more than a youthful indiscretion.

Don’t worry about his communist past.  He believes in global warming, which is good enough for Al ‘I’m gonna make a billion on this global warming scam’ Gore.

There is a quote from Al Gore on the Van Jones website. This alone, is a reason to visit the website.  Gore said, “Van Jones demonstrates conclusively that the best solutions for the survivability of our planet are also the best solutions for the survivability of everyday Americans.”

Thanks for that ringing endorsement of Van Jones, Al. It sure changes my opinion of him. I am debating who I distrust more; Al Gore or Van Jones.

I think it’s a tie.

Glenn Beck has talked about Van Jones several times on his radio and T.V. shows.

If I were Beck, I would sleep with the lights on for daring to report this story.

In a story reported in World Net Daily on August 16,2009,  War Erupts over Glenn Beck T.V Show: Fans Fight Back, it was reported that the allies of Van Jones is leading a campaign to have sponsors pulled from Beck’s T.V show.

Do you see the America you now live in?  Report the truth and there is an effort to shut you up by getting your sponsors to withdraw, so the end result is that your
show is taken off the airwaves. Its purpose is to silence dissent.

The Left loves dissent and free speech, unless it’s the target.  Look at the vicious attacks by the Left against those attending Town Hall meetings opposing Obama Health Care. Un-American. Tea baggers. Racists. Mobsters. Evil Mongers.

And those are the nice terms being used by the Left, Pelosi, Reid and Specter.

It is recommended to all reading this, that they go to www.DefendGlenn.com and show your support for free speech.

Since Van Jones is a federal czar, how do these efforts to have sponsors pulled from Beck’s show not violate either the letter or the spirit of the First Amendment’s guarantee of free speech?

This action is outrageous and an affront on our Constitution, but not unexpected. It is one of the Rules for Radicals by Obama’s mentor, Saul Alinsky - demonize and
marginalize your opponents.

All those who think the White House had nothing to do with the tactics of Van Jones, please raise your hand?

  • I am glad to see no hands are raised.

Why didn’t the ‘state run media’, as Rush Limbaugh calls them, report this?  Could it be that they are very comfortable with an admitted communist who did prison time being the ‘Green Czar.’

Could it be they did not want to embarrass someone they fought so hard for to get elected? Could it be that anyone who is concerned about an admitted communist with a criminal record being the head of anything without Senate approval is nothing more than a right-wing alarmist?

Could it be that the media could care less if you are an ax-murderer as long as you are ‘green’, love florescent bulbs and believe in global warming?

Does anyone see a pattern here? Bill Ayers, Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Van Jones or is this another example of ‘guilt by association’, as we heard the left-wing pundits tell us all throughout the 2008 election cycle.  I am certain Obama knew nothing about Van Jones’ communist past, just as he never heard Reverend Wright spew his anti-American racist venom while he sat in his church for twenty years.  Maybe, the president has a hearing problem. As my grandfather wisely said, ‘a person’s friends say a lot about who you are.’

Grandpa must have been a closeted right-wing extremist, even though he was a registered Democrat.

Make no mistake about it.  Obama has set up a shadow-government, accountable to no one, but himself. His appointment of over 30 czars is designed to skirt the
Constitution, thereby bypassing the ‘advice and consent’ requirement.

Correct me, if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that the president takes an oath to ‘preserve, protect and defend’ the Constitution.  Anyone who intentionally skirts the Constitution has no respect for it.

Had Van Jones been appointed to a post requiring the consent of the Senate, would he have been confirmed?

Not so long ago, someone like Van Jones wouldn’t be nominated for dog catcher, let alone the ‘Green Czar’.

One cannot say for certain that had he been nominated for a post, he would not have been confirmed by the current Senate, controlled by a filibuster proof sixty Democrats.

  • We definitely live in very strange times.

Is there any specific reference to ‘czars’ in the Constitution?

No, but Liberals don’t care.  To them the Constitution is a ‘living, breathing document’, which is a euphemism for ‘it is an antiquated document which can be ignored at will - according to the dictates of a judge’s personal social and political agenda.’

  • Just ask Justice Sotomayor, who once stated judges should make policy.

If you really believe that the Constitution should be adhered to, face reality. You are a right-wing extremist.

What we need is more ‘czars’.

How many ‘green czars’ does it take to change a light bulb?  Two.  One to screw it in and the other to make sure it is not an incandescent bulb.

How about a ‘radio czar’, who can monitor and oversee those hate-mongering conservative talk radio hosts?

We probably already have one, but the state run media did not report it. We do have an ‘Internet Czar’.  Is he a convict and a communist as well?

I am certain the ‘Internet Czar’ is monitoring this face book page as we speak.

  • Change, we can all believe in.

Wait.  I hear a knock on my door.

Oh, no! It’s the ‘Thought Police’!

They’re taking me away! I think my neighbor, the one with the Obama bumper sticker that says, ‘Change, we can all believe in’, reported me to the White House snitch website.

  • I guess it will be some time before I can write to you again.

Maybe when I’m in prison, I can meet those radicals that Van Jones did and I can share a beer with Van Jones and the President at the White House when I get paroled. Before we sip a beer together, Van Jones and I will remove all the incandescent bulbs at the White House in order to go ‘green’.

Rest in peace, Senator McCarthy.

  • Where are you, now that we really need you?
